The Fat Chronicles - Week 1

Like many people, I’ve gained a considerable amount of weight from age 21 to 26 - especially in the stomach region. Now, I’m not a drinker, so the bulge can be attributed to a poor diet and 0% exercise.

Everywhere on my body is relatively thin except for my stomach and face. In public, my body is mostly a lie, as I suck in my stomach 95% of the time. I’ve gotten to the point where I do not even think about sucking in, I just do naturally.

But this is not how I want to live. I want to get to a normal, healthy size, so that I am happy with myself and feel comfortable in my own skin. I want to be able to swim in public without being ashamed of my pudgy body.

Last Thursday, I started running. Over that period of time, I have not eaten fast food either. Yay for me.

To chronicle my transformation, and to keep me on point, I am keeping a photo diary. Exercise willing, I will be posting each Thursday with an update on my weight and provide a side and front photo of my upper body. That’s right, I’m showing the Internet my shirtless, out-of-shape, farmer’s tan body.

Last Thursday, I weighed 194 lbs, today after my run, I weigh 192 lbs. Good start. Here are the shameful photos:

Here’s me at the start of Week 1:

Now, here I am at the end of Week 1:

There is a little bit of difference, and my legs are tight as hell.

More next week.

Cheers.
