Today is day three of my Monday through Friday, music from high school revival.
Taking Back Sunday is a band I do not enjoy anymore. Their album, Tell All Your Friends, does strike some kind of nostalgic nerve, but it doesn’t last long - this band was (maybe still is) juvenile in every sense of the word.
But hey, the album was a pivotal part of my senior year. I’m sure Ryan and I listened to this album many times in his car - I crashed mine; well, I hit a guy that ran a stop sign.
“Everything I know about breaking hearts, I learned from you.”
“Best friends means I pull the trigger. Best friends means you get what you deserve.”
Those are the kind of lyrics presented in Taking Back Sunday’s Tell All Your Friends. I’m sure they’re meant to seem poetic, but understand that these guys were my age when they wrote that tripe.
Sorry this is so angry.
