Death From Above 1979 was a fun band - sure, they didn’t have many releases, but the music they did produce was a blast.
Like many bands, I discovered them while living in Houston (man, I must have been really lonely while living there - all I did was find new music).
Seeing the two-piece live was a treat, as it was apparent they were passionate for what they were doing. Their sound was infectious - able to proliferate even the most jaded listener.
I was saddened to hear about their break-up some four years ago, but all good things must come to an end.
Today’s Song of the Day is “Black History Month” from their album You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine.
Enjoy.
