Bright Eyes’ The People’s Key is Conor Oberst’s swan song for the moniker he’s gone by for well over a decade. Luckily, Bright Eyes is able to go out with a bang, as this album is tops.
It has all the lyrical textures listeners have come to expect with Bright Eyes, but with a slight sci-fi bend that is undeniably intriguing and catchy. Oh yeah, the music is pretty good too.
